Man, 35, is charged with murdering his mother, 64, at home in South London: Accused set to appear in court

A 35-year-old man who was charged with murdering his mother at his home in South London is set to appear in court.

Jason Phinn was arrested when police responded to reports of an injured woman at a residential address on Strathleven Road in Brixton.

Police found Christie Eugene, 64, at the house and she was taken to a south London hospital in critical condition by the London Ambulance Service.

Despite the best efforts of hospital staff, she died at 10pm on Thursday, November 2.

Her son, Phinn, was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of murder.

He appeared at Croydon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, November 4.

Phinn was remanded in custody and will appear at the Old Bailey on November 7.
